Chokequirao going on a mystical trek to experience things most people will never see in their lives. This less touristic lost Incan city is off the beaten path for most of Peru’s visitors – which means more pristine views and private exploration! Imagine having breakfast while admiring the Limatambo Canyon, to the right the great Apu –Salkantay and Humantay Mountains. On this trek, you will also see many other amazing temples and sacred places of the Inca – including the Tarawasi in Limatambo, the great rock of Saywiti before Cachora village, and the majestic Padreyoc glacier peaks (5482m). Hike past the snow-capped peaks of Padrayoc and Wayna Cachora. We then descend toward Coca Masana (2330m) where the climate becomes noticeably warmer and fauna begins to change.

DAY 2: Valle Sagrado
In the morning, Flight from Lima to the city of Cusco
From Cusco, we will travel to the Sacred Valley and settle into our hotel in the Sacred Valley
While in the Sacred Valley, we will be staying in Las Casitas Del Arco Iris, beautiful bungalows situated in a breathtaking natural environment. Each bungalow is equipped with a luxury bathroom and an open fireplace. Our food will come from the hotel’s organic gardens, which also attract many hummingbirds, swallows, larks and butterflies.
We will close the day with a Shamanic Welcome Fire Ceremony at the hotel to release any individual negative resonances into the fire, harmonize the group and prepare for our journey together!

We will have a delicious picnic amid the mountains for the afternoon will have time to explore the whole area of Sacsayhuaman, a sunset and continue enjoying the magical place.

Chuquito Fertility Temple
Puno, shores of Titicaca, has a space not so big but inside you will find more than 80 phalluses of stone, some battered or mutilated, others still powerful, but yes, they all look boldly upright, only this temple has in the entrance 2 male virile members as protection!
This temple is also called Inca Uyo, Aymara word meaning “virile member of the Inca master alchemist” (so they say), beyond any erotic and precocious connotation, the Inca Uyo is a temple to fertility, in which the miracle was appreciated of human reproduction and helped infertile women so they can have children.

In the morning we will be traveling to the ancestral temple of Sillustani, from Puno to Juliaca, the phalluses of Sillustani visit to the temples of the men of fire, the chullpas of Sillustani are sacred fildspace where they venerated the fire inside them through the masters of alchemy today this type of ritual is known as sweat lodge, for the connection with the soul with oneself as the universe from the sunset we will be arriving to our destination Cusco to have an imperial rest.

This day we will visit the majestic condor of the Andes, ancestrally known as the god of the wind the condor is important because it is an intermediary between the celestial world and the earthly world, that is, it is a connector between the spiritual and physical dimension, the main magical being of the temples of the elements.

We’ll leave Cusco at 6:00 am for the four-hour drive to Cachora in our private transportation. On the way we will make a breakfast stop and admire the wonderful apurimac Canyon, to the right the great Apu –Salkantay and Humantay Mountains. We then we will continue to the little village of Cachora. After meeting our expedition support crew, known as “arrieros”, we’ll arrange our equipment on the pack mules. We begin a gentle hike through this historically rich territory. It is a three-hour hike to Capuliyoc (2915m) from where we have our first views of the Apurimac valley below. We may also see the snow-capped peaks of Padrayoc and Wayna Cachora. We then descend toward Coca Masana (2330m) where the climate becomes noticeably warmer and the flora and fauna begin to change. It is essential to bring a high deet mosquito repellent. Finally, we’ll arrive at Playa Rosalina (Rosalina Beach) at 1550m beside the raging “Speaker God “Apurimac River, famous for class five rafting rapids. Here we will set up camp and spend the night. Walking poles or wooden sticks are very highly recommended.

After an early breakfast, we will walk for approx. one hour to arrive to Playa Rosalina near the Apurimac River (1500 m), where we will cross a typical holding bridge, a forest of cactus, agaves and exotic local fruit trees. Here we’ll start a gentle 3-4 hours’ gradual climb of 1,400 meters from the shores of the Apurimac river to Marampata (2900m). We’ll stop for lunch surrounded by this beautiful landscape. At the end of this path, we’ll see for the first time the archaeological complex of Choquequirao. It’s an easy two hour walk to Choquequirao ruins from here! When we arrive to this Inca complex, we will visit the farming terraces of Paqchayoc and the house of the waterfall. We will spend the night camping near Choquequirao. Here you can taste “Cambric”, a local cognac made from sugar cane!

This day is dedicated to exploring the incredible ruins of Choquequirao. Our guide will explain the history and importance of the site. After you will have free time to visit the many sectors of the complex. Late in the afternoon we will start the return trek and camp the night at Raqaypata.

After breakfast we’ll continue our return trek with a steep descent towards the Apurimac River where we will stop and have lunch. In the afternoon we will climb for approximately four hours to our final campsite at Coca Masana.

After a 3-hour climb, we’ll reach Capuliyoc. From then on, it is a fairly flat trail back to the village of Cachora. We will say goodbye to our arieros (horse guides) and take the bus back to Cusco. We will stop at the archaeological site of Saihuite for chance to rest and have lunch. A further four hours by bus bring us back to Cusco. After a luxurious hot shower, it’s time to enjoy a much-deserved beer and a good meal!
